About

MESHE is an ERASMUS+ project funded through the Partnership for Cooperation Call, in the field of education and training, launched for European NGOs

EUCEN, as a European NGO, prepared and submitted the proposal with support from the consortium.

EUCEN will coordinate this project.

Why do we believe this project is important?

MESHE aims to foster a culture of lifelong learning (LLL) across Europe by promoting the understanding and value of micro-credentials, while testing a unified European education system for their exchange between universities. This approach will enhance collaboration among HEIs but also promote quality assurance and recognition across borders. Despite their growing availability, micro-credentials remain under-used, largely

because learners do not fully understand their potential and continue to view traditional degrees as the primary path to career advancement. MESHE seeks to bridge this perception gap by emphasising the value of micro-credentials as an effective means to upskill, enhance employability, and advance careers. University lifelong learning plays a crucial role in this, helping learners recognise its practical and professional benefits.

Main objectives

MESHE will raise awareness of micro-credentials through a range of activities, including focus discussion groups and questionnaires with learners to identify barriers and opportunities. Additionally, it will pilot the exchange of micro-credentials between universities to test and refine processes for their portability and stackability.

MESHE also aims to advance policies by organising a strategic roundtable in Brussels, where stakeholders will discuss policy recommendations and an action plan for HE cooperation and exchange of micro-credentials. The final event will celebrate learners’ achievements and further highlight the value of micro-credentials as a tool for accessing better employment opportunities.

A strong idea for a strong team!

  • We will work together for 3 years
  • We will engage with different type of stakeholders
  • We will develop tools that make a difference to many
  • We will connect with you both face-to-face and online

Why are we confident that we will succeed?

MESHE is built with a group of institutions that have already been working together for some time and share fundamental trust in each other. We are all committed to ULLL, and the piloting will take place in a “safe” environment.

The external experts we have identified will act as critical friends, helping the group find solutions to any emerging challenges with an open and constructive vision.

With this background and this team, we are bound to succeed!
